Recommendations of Pius IX
These prayers were taken from a book printed in Tolosa in 1740 and published by Fr. Adriano Parvilliers, of the Society of Jesus, apostolic missionary of the Holy Land, with approval, permission and recommendation to propagate them.
Pope Pius IX had the opportunity to examine these prayers and approved them on May 31, 1862, recognizing them as authentic and of great benefit for the good of souls.
The Promises
Santa Brígida prayed at length with the intention of knowing how many Wounds Our Lord received during his terrible Passion, the Savior, rewarding his patience, appeared to him one day and said to him: "I received 5,475 Wounds in my Body. If you wish to honor them recite the Father Ours and Ave Maria fifteen times every day, together with the prayers that I myself will teach you, for a whole year. When the year ends, you will have honored each of my Wounds."
Promises made to Saint Bridget by Jesus Christ Crucified, and to all who daily pray these prayers for one year:
• Whoever recites these prayers will reach the highest degree of perfection.
• I will place my victorious Cross in front of him as aid and defense against the attacks of his enemies.
• Fifteen days before death, you will have a perfect knowledge of all your sins and a profound contrition of them.
• Fifteen days before death, I will give you to eat my Precious Body so that it does not suffer from eternal hunger; and I will also give you to drink my Precious Blood so that you will not suffer thirst forever.
• Before his death, I will come to him with my most beloved Mother.
• I will receive his soul benignly, and take him to eternal joy.
• And, having arrived, I will give you a unique drink from the source of my Divinity, which I will not do at all to others who have not recited my prayers.
• I will deliver fifteen souls from your lineage from purgatory.
• Fifteen sinners in your line will be converted.
• Fifteen souls from your lineage will be confirmed and preserved in grace.
• Let me know that if someone, having lived in a state of mortal sin for thirty years, recites or intends to recite these prayers devoutly, I, the Lord, will forgive him all his sins.
• And if you have spent your entire life doing your own will, and are about to die the next day, your life will be prolonged.
• I will defend you against the devil's temptations.
• I will preserve and guard your five senses.
• I will preserve you from sudden death.
• Your soul will be free from eternal death.
• You will get everything you ask of God and the Blessed Virgin.
• You will be assured of your participation in the supreme choir of the Angels.
• Whoever teaches these prayers to another will have continued joy and merit for eternity.
• Where these prayers are or will be said in the future, God will be present with His grace.
• Each time you recite these prayers, you will get 100 days of indulgence.
First Prayer
O Jesus Christ, eternal sweetness for those who love You, joy that surpasses all joy and all desire, salvation and love of repentant sinners to whom you declared: "My delight is to be with the children of men", having assumed our nature for our salvation, remember the reasons that led you to such a thing and the sufferings that you endured, from the first moment of Your Conception to the time of Your Holy Passion, just as it had been decreed and established from all eternity by one God and trine.
Remember, Lord, that by celebrating the Supper with your disciples, after having washed their feet, you gave them Your Sacred Heart and precious Blood and sweetly consoled them with your impending Passion.
Remember the sadness and bitterness you experienced in your soul, as you witnessed, Yourself, in these words: "My soul is sad until death".
Remember, Lord, the fears, anxieties and pains that you endured in your Most Holy Body before the Cross, when, after having prayed three times, shedding blood sweat, you were betrayed by one of your nation's disciples elected, accused by false witnesses and wickedly sentenced to death by three judges in the solemn time of Easter.
Remember that you were betrayed, mocked and stripped of your own garments; that you veiled your eyes, that you were slapped, that you were tied to a column, scourged and crowned with thorns.
For the memory that I have of these pains and pains, I gave myself before death a real contrition, the opportunity to confess with sincerity and the remission of all my sins.

Second Prayer

Third Prayer

What pains you endured, oh! Jesus, when the perfidious executioners wounded your limbs, they detached the joints of your bones, and stretched your Body on all sides. Fourth Prayer
O Jesus, heavenly physician, remember the sufferings and pains you felt in your already lacerated limbs when the Cross was lifted.
From the soles of your feet to the top of your head, no part of Your Body was free from torments; and meanwhile, forgetting your sufferings, you prayed for your enemies saying: "Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing".
For this immense charity and mercy and in remembrance of such pains, make me remember Your Passion, so that it may work in me a perfect contrition and the remission of all my sins. So be it.

For this abyss of compassion and for the kindness you showed to the good thief, saying to him: "Today you will be with me in Paradise", I beg you, O pious Jesus, that in the hour of my death, you will use mercy towards me. I plead with confidence, most pious Jesus, for the sword of pain that then pierced Her soul, that you have compassion on me in my anguish and tribulations, both bodily and spiritual, and console me, bringing me help and joy in all trials and adversities. So be it.

Seventh Prayer
O Lord Jesus Christ, an inexhaustible source of sweetness that, through a deep tenderness of love, you said about the Cross: “I am thirsty!” that is, I most desire the salvation of mankind, ignite in us, we pray, the will to operate perfectly, completely extinguishing in me the thirst for sinful lusts and the ardor of worldly pleasures. So be it.

Eighth Prayer
O Lord Jesus Christ, sweetness of hearts and softness of spirits, by the bitter taste of gall and vinegar that you tasted for us at the time of Your death, grant us the grace to receive Your Body and Your Most Precious Blood. during our life and at the time of our death, not unworthily but for the remedy and comfort of our souls. So be it.

Ninth Prayer
O Lord Jesus Christ, joy of the spirit, remember the anguish and pain you endured when, plunged into bitterness when feeling death approaching, insulted and outraged by the Jews, you cried out to your Father, saying: "My God, My God, why did you abandon Me? " For this anguish I beg You not to abandon me at the time of my death. So be it.

O Lord Jesus Christ, deep abyss of pity and mercy, I plead with You, for the depth of your Wounds that have penetrated to the marrow of your bones and have even reached your entrails, that You deign to tear me out of the mudflats of sins in which I am submerged, and hide myself within your Wounds.

Twelfth Prayer
O Jesus Christ, mirror of truth, sign of unity, bond of charity, we remember the innumerable wounds that Your Body has covered, torn by the wicked Jews and covered by the purple of Your own adorable Blood.
I inscribed, with mercy, with this same Blood in my heart, Your Wounds, so that through the meditation of Your pain and Your love, the pain for Your sufferings may be renewed in me, every day, increase my love , and I persevere in giving You thanks continually until the end of my life, that is, until I finally meet you, full of all the goods and all the merits that You have given me, the treasure of your Passion . For this anguish and for this pain, I beg You to have pity on me when my last hour sounds and my soul is troubled on the outside of the agony.

Fourteenth Prayer

For this most precious death, I beg You, O King of Saints, to make me strong in resisting the devil, the world and the flesh, so that, being dead to the world, I can live only for You. O Jesus, true and fruitful life, remember the abundant outpouring of Your Blood that you shed from Your Sacred Body, when, after bowing your head, soldier Longinus opened the side, from which the last drops of blood and water flowed. For this bitter Passion I hurt, I pray you, sweetest Jesus, my heart, so that day and night I will shed tears of love. I have completely converted to You so that my heart may be Your perpetual abode; my conversion please you and be accepted by you; and the end of my life is edifying, so that I may praise You eternally with all the saints.
